Iron Thunder MC 4th Annual Poker Run - Result
A THUNDEROUS CONGRATULATIONS - TO ALL!!
The 2017 Iron Thunder MC Poker Run, was a great success. This year we managed to blitz last year’s total by raising a staggering $11,020.00 – this means we will be able to present cheques for $5,510.00 to each of the Charities we support - The Middlemore Foundation’s Auckland Spinal Unit and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust. Add to this, the amount that the Auckland Wheelstarz collected on the day through the generous nature of our run supporters, which was a further $1,000.00. This made for a $12,020.00 day!
We cannot express our gratitude to all of those that attended, registered and freely gave their hard-earned money so that the lives of others could be made that little bit better. You came on your bikes, in your cars and with friends by the hundreds to make this day the best yet. To those that won prizes, please share the information about the sponsors to all your friends and ask them to support those that support us all.
Thank you, Earl, from Popeye Pics, who has supported every run and event we have had, through donating his time and energy in taking some amazing images and donating photoshoot vouchers.

2016 Auckland Wheelstarz Invitational Tournament
Over the past few of months, Our club members have been hanging with the Auckland Wheelstarz at their training sessions, Although we are quite useless at playing basketball in a wheelchair, it is actually so much fun & such a humbling feeling seeing the look on their faces when we arrive.
Being in a chair, even just for a game of b’ball, gives you a slight insight into what they go through on a daily basis, We can get up and walk away; but most of them don’t have that luxury.
So on July 23rd we went to support the Auckland Wheelstarz during their 2nd tournament, held at the Otara Pool & Recreational Centre,
It was a fantastic day of competition with 4 highly skilled regional teams – Auckland WheelStarz Blue, Auckland WheelStarz White, Waikato Warriors and the North Island Cavaliers (a mix of players from different areas of the North Island) battling it out for the highly coveted trophy.
We are happy to announce, The Auckland Wheelstarz took out 1st Place & we were even given the opportunity to help hand out the certificates & trophies to all the teams.
